Muharram – New Islamic Lunar Year 1440 AH is on Tuesday 11th September, 2018

Declaration:

The Crescent Committee of Canada has declared the 1st of Muharram (New Islamic Year) to be on Tuesday 11th September, 2018. There were several reports of naked eye new moon sightings. We have verified sightings from South Africa, Mauritius, Morocco, Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados, Chile and the USA on the eve of 29 Dhul Hijjah 1439 AH (10th September, 2018 CE).

We wish a blessed, prosperous and safe new year to one and all. May Almighty Allah’s blessings be with the entire world.

The 10th of Muharram, 1440 will coincide with 20th of September, 2018 In-sha-Allah.
