Due to multiple confirmed verifiable sightings of the new crescent (hilal) in the United States (namely, Virginia, California, Texas and Florida) on the eve of the 29th of Rajab (16th April, 2018), the Crescent Committee of Canada hereby declares the end of the month of Rajab 1439 and the commencement of the new lunar month of Sha’ban.

The 1st of Sha’ban 1439 will correspond with Tuesday the 17th of April 2018.

We wish everyone a blessed Sha’ban and we all look forward to the anticipated month of Ramadan.
